LAPIDARY AND MORE

The Westbrook Lapidary Club is made up of men and women.  Some experienced and some with no experience at all.  Lapidary is the art of cutting, forming and polishing gemstones and precious material. 

But at our club you can also enjoy working with glass, metal stamping, work with Sterling Silver, make jewelry from spoons and forks.  We also do Beading, Stringing and Chain Maile.  We have a lot of equipment large saws to cut stone; we also have a lot of stone to choose from. Use a kiln to make your own cabochons also learn how to wire wrap your cabochons, and so much more.  We offer classes and also teach and help teach each other.

So if you are searching for a unique handmade gift or something for yourself that will stand out why not make your own.  Our first meeting open to all Westbrook Village residents and Renters November 4, 2015 at 10:00 The Lakes.  Our yearly membership is $20.00

WIRE RINGS AND EARRINGS

This beautiful Rings and Earrings were made in a class at the Westbrook Village Lapidary Club in May 2015.  We offer many different classes. If you would like to become a member our first meeting will be Wednesday November 4, 2015 at 10:00 am in the lapidary room at the Lakes.

DUES $20.00 per year for residents of WBV.

You do not need to be a member to take a class.

End of year note to all members:

It’s time to say good-by to our winter friends and members.  Our club had a great year.  Our first meeting was in November and it was great to see our returning members and some new members. 

Everyone was excited about being back and sharing there summer stories and new ideas.

Our parties were wonderful as usual good food and friends and of course talking about beading.

We are doing a lot more classes.  Sherri and Denise of P. Squared are teaching classes in wire wrapping. Everyone is so excited with the jewelry they have made.  Rose of DIY gave a beading class and made a bracelet and necklace, just beautiful.  

It was great having instructors come to the club to give the classes. These classes will continue in 2016.  All classes were $10.00.

After the meeting Rose of DIY will be offering a class on beading.

please bring 11, 6, or 8 size beads

You must either sign up for this class at the club or 

call Bettina or Judi to reserve you spot.

Two Hour Class $10:00

Rose will bring a tote with beads you may wish to purchase for the class or you can bring your own supplies.

These beautiful pieces of art/jewelry were created by one of our members.  After making her fused glass cabochons, she then took the basic wire wrapping class and created these beautiful pieces.

WIRE WRAPPING CLASS at THE WESTBROOK VILLAGE LAPIDARY CLUB

Today many of our club members took a class on wire wrapping.   The class was given by P Squared ltd.  They also offer other classes that our club will be looking into for our members.

No experience needed we all share our skills and talents.

 Stone, Silver, Glass, Beading, Embossing etc.

Our meetings are the first Wednesday of each month at 10:00 am The Lakes.  All are welcome.

After each meeting we have a demo, our first one of the year was Polymer Clay. Judi a former art teacher showed us how to make beautiful jewelry with Polymer Clay.
